Blogging About Blogging
Blogging and Wikis are good technology tools to use in a 21st century classroom. They both allow students to collaborate and share their thoughts with others. Students enjoy using them because they get to use a computer, the internet, and make their own pages containing their own opinions which they really like. Blogging is a good way for students who maybe shy and not like to speak out in class to express their thoughts. These students could respond to or share their thoughts about a lesson through a blog and would probably be more willing to say things that they would never raise their hand in class to say. Which would provide more information for the teacher about their students. Also blogs and wikis could be used for students to communicate and collaborate with students from other schools which would be neat.

I like your ideas about students that are shy engaging through a blog. We must realize that all our students might have something to say, just no venue to say it!

I agree that blogging is a good way to get the "shy" student involved.
ReplyDeleteBefore reading your blog, I didn't think of blogging being beneficial to any particular type of student. From your blog, I realized how blogs help "shy" students share thoughts and ideas. This tool helps their voices to be heard.
